 | iB Food was established in 1987 by
Carlo Gambuzzi and Isabella Cornini who identified an opportunity to
supply authentic Mediterranean chef ingredients to the UK catering
trade. |
 | The dramatic increase in popularity of
Mediterranean cuisine and in eating out in general combined
with a demand from chefs for non seasonality of ingredients has
prompted the growth of iB Food over the last thirteen years. |
 | The company has over 300 products
in its current portfolio, all of which it has
the exclusive UK distribution rights for. |
 | All new ingredients undergo rigorous
quality checks before they are added to the iB Food range.
This process includes testing the product in working kitchens to
measure taste and performance. In addition, new suppliers are
visited in
Italy to ensure the quality and consistency of ingredients can be
maintained, and furthermore passing
audtis to comply with the food safety act, haccps etc. |
 | All products are made to traditional
regional recipes using home made or local produce. None of the
products are genetically modified or contain any ingredients which
are genetically modified. |
 | The ingredients provide the chef with
a simple, labour saving way to create authentic Mediterranean
cuisine. Preparation time is reduced to a minimum leaving more
time free for recipe development. |
 | The product range is dictated by the
needs of the customer. iB Food spends time with customers researching
and developing product suggestions. Often a new product
will be introduced to the range following an initial request
from a customer. |
 | iB Food distributes to hotels,
restaurants, pubs, brasseries and delicatessens, plus in flight
catering and corporate event companies nationwide. |
 | Independent chef proprietor outlets
account for 75% of the company's business. |
